In Pakistan, "Mercantile" means an Apple charger sold through the distributor channel with a distributor warranty; "imported" means an original unit brought in through other channels, with the seller's own warranty; "box-pulled" means a charger taken out of a device box; and "copy", "master copy" or "A-grade" means fake. The first three can all be genuine Apple hardware. The last one never is. The price tells you a lot about which one you are really looking at.

What does Mercantile mean on an Apple charger listing?
Mercantile is widely described by Pakistani sellers as Apple's authorised distributor in Pakistan. A "Mercantile" or "official" listing means the unit came through that distributor channel. You pay the most for it, and the extra buys you distributor paperwork and a distributor warranty route.
That matters in one real situation: an office, bank or university purchase that needs a distributor invoice. For a person buying one charger for their own iPhone, the adapter inside the box is the same Apple 20W.
What does imported or lot imported mean?
"Imported" should mean original Apple stock brought into Pakistan outside the distributor channel. The hardware is the same. The warranty is whatever the seller promises, so the seller's track record is what you are really buying.
"Lot imported", "USA lot" and "UAE lot" are looser. Some lots are genuine surplus. Others are refurbished units, or copies with a better story attached. When a "lot imported" Apple 20W comes with two free Apple cables for PKR 2,499, the maths does not work for original stock. Two original Apple cables alone cost more than that.
AvaNext falls in the imported category. We buy Apple chargers and cables in bulk directly from official Apple vendors, which is why our 20W starts at PKR 3,800. The warranty is ours: 12 months on chargers and cables against manufacturing defects, plus a 7-day replacement, as set out on our warranty page.
What does box-pulled mean, and is it real?
Box-pulled means the adapter was taken out of a new device box and sold separately. It was common when iPhones came with a charger. Apple stopped putting a power adapter in iPhone boxes from the iPhone 12 in 2020, so a listing claiming a box-pulled 20W from a new iPhone does not add up.
Some iPad boxes have included a USB-C adapter, so a small number of genuine box-pulled units exist. You get no retail packaging and usually no warranty. If a seller is selling box-pulled 20W adapters by the hundred, ask where they are coming from.
What do copy, master copy and A-grade mean?
All three mean fake. "Master copy" and "A-grade" are sales terms for a better-looking fake. The shell may pass a quick glance. The circuit inside is the part that is cut down, and it is the part that deals with Pakistan's voltage fluctuations and summer heat.
These usually sell between PKR 1,149 and PKR 1,599 with a cable thrown in, often with the word "genuine" in the title. Our original vs fake Apple charger guide covers the physical checks, and the serial number guide covers the markings.
Which type should you buy?
Buy Mercantile if you need the distributor invoice. That is the one case where the higher price is buying you something specific.
Buy imported from a seller you can hold to account if you want the original hardware at a lower price. Check three things: a physical address you could visit, a written warranty, and a way to see the product before paying. At AvaNext that means the Saddar, Karachi store, self-pickup in Gulberg, Islamabad, and COD parcels shipped in a transparent flyer.
Skip box-pulled unless you know exactly where the unit came from. Skip anything under PKR 2,000 that calls itself an original Apple 20W. It is not.

Frequently asked questions
Is a Mercantile Apple charger better than an imported one?
The hardware is the same if both are original. The difference is the warranty route and paperwork. Mercantile listings cost more and come through the distributor channel; imported units carry the seller's warranty.
Are box-pulled Apple 20W chargers real?
Rarely. iPhones have not come with a power adapter since the iPhone 12 in 2020, so large volumes of "box-pulled" 20W adapters should be treated with suspicion.
What is a master copy Apple charger?
A fake. "Master copy" and "A-grade" are market terms for better-looking counterfeits. They are commonly sold for PKR 1,149 to PKR 1,599 with a cable.
What is the lowest realistic price for an original Apple 20W charger in Pakistan?
As of 30 September 2026, AvaNext sells the original Apple 20W USB-C adapter for PKR 3,800 by buying in bulk directly from official Apple vendors. A 20W offered far below that should be treated as a warning sign.
